Jester Film
This film program builds on the themes explored in the exhibition Charming for the Revolution: the body as a site of labour, production and consumption, as well as resistance and transformation.
Der Flexible Unternehmer from Alexander Kluge probes the relationship of bodies and economies by drawing a parallel between its protagonist's "physical condition and the functioning of the market in fortress Europe." On a similar note, Writing Desire by Ursula Biemann deals with the commercialisation of gender relations, as exemplified by bride market - "a site where the virtual and physical exchange of bodies converge". The relationship between bodies, objects, and desire is further explored in Nazlı Dinçel's Between Relating and Use.
The title of the programme is borrowed from the film of Steve Reinke & Jessie Mott which opens the evening.
