Art organisation Jester opened their new building at C-mine with a festive weekend.
Art organisation Jester moved to the C-mine site, and opened its doors with a weekend of festivities! For three days, we celebrated the opening of our brand new building with friends, artists, colleagues and stakeholders. The official opening took place on Friday 17 November. After a word of welcome by director Yesim Bektas, there were speeches by Genk mayor Wim Dries and locale minister of culture Anniek Nagels. During the reception afterwards, guests were able to discover Jester's 3 pavilions. Later that night, we were served the seductive beats of local musician Susobrino.
Saturday and Sunday also brought a lot of curious visitors to our home. Current Jester residents and a host of guest artists filled our spaces with various performances. Meanwhile, the Jester team and our volunteers were happy to guide everyone around the new building.
