Jorn Plucieniczak

Jorn Plucieniczak is a filmmaker and musician. He currently resides in Brussels, but he grew up in Genk and the nearby village of As. His short films '+6 Gain' (2019) and 'Terril' (2023) are located in this region. Plucieniczak observes the socio-cultural phenomena in his hometown through the lens of the enigmatic history of this region.

During his residency Plucieniczak wants to further explore the people, places and sotories of Genk through a number of short films.

'+6 Gain' was shown at several international film festivals including Visions du Reel (2019, CH), Courtisane (2020, BE) and Sheffield DocFest (2019, GB). 'Terril' was granted the RTP Special Jury Award at the DocLisboa documentary festival (2023, PT). Jorn is currently writing his first full length movie.
